Understanding Session Limits — Try-Ons Per Visitor
Session limits control how many virtual try-ons a single visitor can perform during one browsing session (a single visit to your store).
What Is a Session Limit?
A session limit is the maximum number of try-ons one visitor can do in a single session. Once a visitor reaches this limit, the try-on button becomes unavailable to them for the rest of that visit (they'll see a message like "You've already tried on N items this visit — come back later for more!").
Why Do Session Limits Exist?
Session limits help you:
- Prevent abuse — Stops automated or excessive usage from a single visitor
- Spread try-ons across more visitors — Ensures your monthly allotment serves more unique customers
- Manage costs — Keeps usage within your plan's capacity
Available Options
You choose the session limit yourself from a dropdown in the app — it isn't tied to a fixed per-plan number:

| 5 | 5 try-ons per visitor session (default — recommended for most stores) |
| 10 | 10 try-ons per visitor session |
| Unlimited | No per-session limit |
Your monthly try-on allowance is set by your plan (Free 25, Starter 100, Growth 500, Pro 3,000). The session limit above is a separate, per-visitor control that you set yourself.
How to Change Session Limits
- Open the FitMagik Dashboard
- Go to Settings → Rate Limiting
- In the "Try-ons per session" dropdown, choose 3, 5, 10, or Unlimited
- Click Save settings
Recommendation: 5 try-ons per session works well for most stores — enough for shoppers to compare a few options while still spreading your monthly allowance across more visitors.
